The platform game is classic for its controls, but not for its plot. But despite the frivolous setting, each level is a real challenge. The main characters are depicted as cups with arms and legs shooting out of their fingers, they and others look like classic Disney cartoons due to the hand drawing. The user (and his friend, with a shared ticket) embark on a journey full of unforgettable adventures, atmospheric locations and incredibly powerful bosses, almost impossible to kill. Don’t be fooled: despite its cartoonish visual style, this is a real hell for the casual gamer, the most difficult platformer with shooter elements, designed in the style of the 1930’s era.
A true example of solid gameplay and unusual environments, Cuphead’s environments seem to mock the player.
